Local man remanded for trespassing, molesting

Local Khairul Sazwan bin Kadir suspected of stealing several items was remanded yesterday in the Maraburong Prison until June 11 for further mention in the Intermediate Court.

The remand order came from the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Magistrate’s Court yesterday following court proceedings where Khairul Sazwan is facing charges under Section 457 and Section 354 of the Penal Code Chapter 22.

According to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), the unemployed 25-year-old man is believed to have stolen gold rings, gold bracelets, mobile phones, tablet computers and cash.

In the incident reported to the RBPF on May 31, the victim was asleep in a house in RPN Lambak Kanan when a man laid on top of the victim. When the victim woke up, the suspect ran away.

Berakas Police Station personnel conducted an investigation with public assistance and traced the suspect who was later detained.

Investigations revealed that the suspect entered the victim’s home on May 31 around midnight through a locked living room window.
