The Law Society of Brunei Darussalam will resume the free Legal Advice Clinic relating to civil and criminal matters today between 11am and 1pm at the Ground Floor of the Law and Subordinate Courts Building, Batu Satu, Jalan Tutong, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The Law Society will also conduct the Legal Advice Clinic in the Belait District today between 11am and 1pm at the Magistrate’s Court Building in Kuala Belait.
Social distancing measures will be strictly observed following the de-escalation of certain restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the clinics, the Law Society aims to increase public awareness on legal matters by providing assistance in the form of free legal advice to the public who are unable and/or constrained to obtain assistance due to their limited earning capacity.
Advice at both clinics will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis. The requirements that entitles any member of public to obtain such advice are as follows: (i) the member/s of public must not be represented by any law firm; (ii) present a copy of their current Brunei-issued Identity Card; (iii) provide proof of current residential address; and (iv) provide proof of income/allowance of less than BND1,500 per month.
Law Society members will conduct the clinics.
