Elderly in puppy killing case suffers from degenerative memory, impaired cognitive function

The elderly man in the case related to the killing of puppies is suffering from degenerative memory and impaired cognitive function. This was revealed by the prosecution in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Dayangku Didi-Nuraza binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Latiff said the report on Haji Md Tahir bin Haji Nudin was prepared by a clinical psychologist.

The defendant faces charge with an offence of committing mischief against animals under Section 428 of the Penal Code. Lawyer Rozaiman Abdul Rahman, acting for the defendant, submitted a representation to the prosecution prior to yesterday’s hearing.

The prosecution needs to consider the matter in view of this. Magistrate Hajah Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid adjourned the case to June 29.
