Schools across Brunei Darussalam are preparing for the return of teachers and students tomorrow, as part of Phase 1 in the de-escalation plan to loosen public health restrictions.
During this phase, only students sitting for major exams will be allowed to attend, while the rest have to wait until a later date.
“Parents and guardians are advised not to send the children to school if they are unwell, but to bring them instead to the nearest health clinic for a check-up,” said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at a press conference at the Ministry of Health (MoH) building yesterday.
Students, parents and guardians were also encouraged to comply with the guidelines and protective measures in place, including temperature checks at school entrances.
On the question whether students would be required to wear face masks, the minister said it was recommended, but not compulsory.
“However, kindergarten and primary students are advised to wear face masks,” he said.
