COVID-19 updates: No new case today; One patient remains under treatment

 

The Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Isham Hj Jaafar at the daily COVID-19 press briefing said that no new COVID-19 case in was recorded in Brunei today, maintaining the national tally at 141.

The total number of recovered patients remains at 138. Only one patient, who is still in critical condition remains under treatment at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 538 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV2 virus, that brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 21,157 tests.

The health minister also informed that a total of 279,226 individuals have registered as users to BruHealth application. In addition, a total of 5,889 businesses and premises have registered for the application.

 


 

Be socially responsible: Minister

The health minister reiterated the need for the public to still carry out their social responsibilities and to take precautionary measures when visiting restaurants, shops, markets and grocery stores. “It is especially important to always practice physical distancing as recommended and to not go in crowded areas,” he said.

He added that business and restaurant owners are also advised to take precautionary measures to avoid overcrowding situations at or around the premises.
