The Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Isham bin Hj Jaafar at the daily COVID-19 press briefing said that no new COVID-19 case in was recorded in Brunei today, maintaining the national tally at 141.
No active cases are being treated at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong.
At this time, all close contact of patients have completed the 14-day quarantine period in accordance to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204). A total of 2,823 individuals have completed their quarantine.
In the past 24 hours, a total of 103 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV2 virus, that brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 26,571 tests.
Statistics of the surveillance conducted in the sixth week of de-escalation period was also shared by the health minister. From 15 until 21 June 2020, 530 samples have tested negative so far.
Meanwhile, the number of expanded surveillance tests from 1 June to 21 June 2020 are a total of 2,384 samples, of which 1,756 were taken from preschool and childcare centre staff. The health minister also informed that the expanded surveillance will be extended to primary schools where it will be conducted in random where 10% of the total number of teachers will be selected for the SARS-CoV-2 swab test.
The health minister also informed that a total of 396,773 individuals have registered as users to BruHealth application. In addition, a total of 10,257 businesses and premises have registered for the application.
