COVID-19 updates: Brunei marks 31 days without new cases


The Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Isham Hj Jaafar at the daily COVID-19 press briefing said that no new COVID-19 case in was recorded in Brunei today, maintaining the national tally at 141.

The total number of recovered patients remains at 138. Only one patient, who is still in critical condition remains under treatment at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 502 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV2 virus, that brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 21,659 tests.

The minister also shared the statistics of the surveillance conducted in the third week of de-escalation from June 1 – 5: 426 samples taken on foreign workers surveillance; 489 samples taken on community surveillance; and 481 samples taken for expanded surveillance such as on frontliners and staff working at child care centres, preschools, and elderly care centres.

The health minister also informed that a total of 281,969 individuals have registered as users to BruHealth application. In addition, a total of 6,034 businesses and premises have registered for the application.
