COVID-19 updates: Brunei contacts of Malaysian COVID-19 patient undergoing testing and quarantine

 

The Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Isham bin Hj Jaafar at the daily COVID-19 press briefing said that no new COVID-19 case in was recorded in Brunei today, maintaining the national tally at 141.

The total number of recovered patients remains at 138. Only one patient, who is still in critical condition remains under treatment at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 433 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV2 virus, that brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 22,092 tests.

The health minister also informed that a total of 281,969 individuals have registered as users to BruHealth application. In addition, a total of 6,212 businesses and premises have registered for the application.

Following reports from the Malaysian health ministry of two of its citizens testing positive for COVID-19 upon their return home from Brunei, Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Isham confirmed that investigations into both cases are currently underway, where the contacts related to the cases have been identified.
“All the contacts of the cases were instructed to undergo the SARS-CoV-2 laboratory test and undergo 14-days quarantine. At this time, a total of 113 individuals are undergoing quarantine.” he shared today.
