COVID-19: Brunei records 32 consecutive days with no new case

Brunei Darussalam continued to record no new COVID-19 cases yesterday with the national tally at 141.

With 138 recoveries and no recoveries recorded yesterday, there is one active case in a critical condition at the National Isolation Centre (NIC).

Updates of the current COVID-19 situation were provided by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at a press conference yesterday.

The minister said, “Alhamdulillah with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there is no new COVID-19 case in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141, while the total number of recovered cases is 138.

“There is only one case being treated at the NIC who is still in a critical condition and requires heart-lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance.

“Let us pray for the patient to be granted full recovery by Allah the Almighty,” Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said.

The minister said 433 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 22,092.

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there were 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
