Brunei Darussalam continued its streak of no new COVID-19 cases yesterday keeping the national tally of cases at 141.

Meanwhile, no recovery cases were recorded keeping the number at 138. It is hoped that the public will pray for the complete recovery of the only active COVID-19 patient in the country who is in a critical condition.

This was shared by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during a press conference at the Al-‘Afiah Hall yesterday.

“Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there are no new cases of COVID-19 infection in the country. Therefore, the total number of cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141, whereas the total number of recovered cases stands at 138.

“There is only one case being treated at the National Isolation Centre. The patient is in a critical condition and requires a heart-lung machine (ECMO) and respiratory assistance.”

He added, “Let us together pray for the patient to be granted full recovery by Allah the Almighty.”

Over the past 24 hours, 108 samples had been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 19,624.
