Brunei records no new COVID-19 case

Brunei Darussalam recorded no new COVID-19 case keeping the national tally at 141.

Without any recovery yesterday, the number of recovered cases remains at 138 and one active case is still in the National Isolation Centre. The patient is still in critical condition.

The latest updates on the COVID-19 situation in the country was provided by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar at the daily press conference yesterday.

The minister said, “Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there are no new cases of COVID-19 infection in the country. Therefore, the number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141 cases, whereas the number of cases that recovered is 138.”

He added that there is only one case still being treated at the National Isolation Centre, where the case is still in critical condition and requires heart-lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance.

The minister revealed, “A total of 414 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, that brings the number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 20,619.”

On updates for BruHealth app, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said “Alhamdulillah, as of this time 275,743 individuals have registered as users of the application. In addition to that, 5,661 businesses and premises have registered for the application.”

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there were 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
