Brunei marks another day without new COVID-19 case

Brunei Darussalam continues to report no new COVID-19 cases, with the national tally remaining at 141. Only one active COVID-19 patient remains at the National Isolation Centre (NIC).

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar reported the updates at the daily press conference yesterday.

“Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there is no new case of COVID-19 infections in the country. Therefore, the total number of cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 141, whereas the total number of recovered cases stands at 138.

“There is only one case being treated at the NIC. The patient is in critical condition and requires a heart-lung machine (ECMO) and respiratory assistance,” the minister added.

Over the past 24 hours, 256 samples had been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 19,386.

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there were 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
