Brunei marks 30 days without new COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam marked 30 days without new COVID-19 cases yesterday maintaining the total cases at 141.

No recovered cases were recorded, keeping the tally at 138, while only one active case, still in critical condition requiring heart-lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance, remains in the National Isolation Centre.

This was said by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during the press conference.

“Let us together pray for the patient to be granted full recovery by Allah the Almighty,” said the minister. Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham revealed that 538 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus yesterday bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 21,157.

In its breakdown of COVID- 19 cases in the Sultanate, 110 cases were recorded in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
