Brunei maintains streak of no fresh COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam maintained its streak of recording no new COVID-19 cases, retaining the national tally at 141 cases.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar announced this at a press conference yesterday.

“Alhamdulillah, with the grace of Allah the Almighty, there are no new COVID-19 cases in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei remains at 141. At this time, 31 individuals are undergoing quarantine in accordance with the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204), while 2,792 have completed their quarantine and are in stable condition.” In the past 24 hours, 245 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 25,323.

The minister said 384,572 individuals have registered with the BruHealth app. Additionally, 9,051 companies and premises have also registered for the application.

“A total of 4,820 business premises have downloaded the PremiseScan application,” Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said, adding that all premises are advised to download the application to facilitate the QR code scanning. This is especially for those that do not have access to mobile phone devices to enter premises.

In its breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there were 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
