Almost 1,400 samples taken for COVID-19 tests last week

From June 1-5, which is the third week of de-escalation, the Ministry of Health has obtained 1,396 samples to test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar shared the statistics at a press conference yesterday.

The breakdown are 426 samples from foreign workers, 489 samples from the community surveillance and 481 samples from frontliners and staff working at child care centres, preschools, and elderly care centres.

On the BruHealth app, the Minister of Health said, “Alhamdulillah, 281,969 individuals have registered as users of the application. In addition, 6,034 businesses and premises registered for the application.”

The registered businesses and premises are 1,532 restaurants, 632 schools, 571 retail shops, 556 offices, 410 government premises, 265 food stalls, 173 gyms, 305 barber/salons, 54 car workshops, 51 shopping malls, 69 health centres and clinics, 45 recreational clubs, 26 places of interest, 25 supermarkets, 25 markets, 14 indoor playgrounds, 11 golf courses, 15 places of worship, seven cinemas, 219 hospitals, 224 takeouts, one petrol station, one taxi service, three Dart and one ride sharing, nine bus companies as well as 790 others.
