25 in Belait receive food in outreach programme

Twenty-five recipients in Belait received food from the Girl Scouts Section of Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association recently. It was part of the Jalinan Kasih Programme, an annual outreach programme which started five years ago.

Commissioner for Girl Scouts Section Skipper Hajah Nor Rahmat binti Haji Sidin led the distribution as the project coordinator. The recipients received rice, flour, cooking oil and canned food.

Earlier this year, the programme distributed food to recipients in the Temburong District in January, and the Belait District in February. In April, 41 families from all four districts
received contributions.

The recipients are orphans, Muslim converts and underprivileged families especially those whose income have been affected by COVID-19.

The Girl Scouts Section of Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association expressed gratitude to the public and companies for the contribution to the project.
