The Brunei Gas Carriers (BGC) continued its second session of blood donation drive in cooperation with the Blood Donation Centre of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital and McDonald’s Brunei at McDonald’s Brunei Drive-Thru in Lambak yesterday.
The event was part of BGC’s social investment initiatives and held in conjunction with the World Blood Donor Day 2020 observed on June 14.
It was also held to support the efforts of the nation’s hospitals in maintaining constant and adequate blood supply and encourage people to donate blood.
A total of 101 pints of blood were collected.
The campaigns were conducted through a booking system through focal persons appointed by the Youth Volunteers group as part of the COVID-19 preventive measures and only a maximum of five donors were accommodated every 30 minutes.
Social distancing measures as advised by the Ministry of Health were also adhered to during the blood donation drive.
Successful donors received a free McDonald’s meal voucher courtesy of BGC.
