Two recoveries, 13th day with no new COVID-19 case

Another two COVID-19 patients in the country recovered yesterday bringing the number of recoveries to 126. Eleven active cases are still receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in the Tutong District.

No new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country for the 13th consecutive day and confirmed cases remain at 138.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar provided these details at the daily press conference yesterday.

Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah the Almighty, there is no new COVID-19 case in the country. Therefore, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Brunei Darussalam remains at 138,” he said.

He said the two patients have recovered from COVID-19 and the number of cases recovered is 126.

This brings the number of active cases still being treated at the NIC to 11 where two are still in critical condition and requiring heart-lung machine (ECMO) and respiratory assistance.

The rest are in a stable condition, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said. “Fifty-six individuals are undergoing quarantine in accordance to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) while 2,519 individuals have completed their quarantine.” The minister said in the past 24 hours, 207 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 13,924.

With regard to the cases that have recovered but found to be positive again during follow-up examination, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham said there is no case that has re-tested positive. This brings the total number of such cases as of yesterday to 22 of which six are undergoing further examination and testing.

In its breakdown of COVID- 19 cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that the Brunei-Muara District has 111 cases, Belait District 21 and Tutong District six.
