Hundreds of recipients of the SMS Brunei Prihatin for Orphans Funds received aid at Seri Kenangan Hall in Tutong District yesterday.

Some 705 orphans from all eight mukims in the district are expected to receive donations in a campaign that ends at noon today.

The campaign has allocated four lanes for the drive-thru to ensure the smooth handover of donations.

Permanent Secretary at the MCYS Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan oversaw the event in the company of officials from the Tutong District Office, the JAPEM, representatives from Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) and personnel from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).

Only one representative from each family is allowed to receive the donation. Those with respiratory problems, fever, flu and cough, including senior citizens with chronic ailments, immune-compromised individuals, pregnant women and children under 12 are encouraged to stay at home.

Meanwhile, the handing over of the donation will be held at all JAPEM branches in the four districts on May 6-8.
