The Lions Club of Belait in collaboration with the Lions Club of Bandar Seri Begawan donated 1,000 pieces of face masks to the frontline volunteers yesterday.

Recipients comprised the Youth Volunteer Group under the Community Development Department at the Ministry of Health.

Zone 12’s Chairperson Immediate Past President Daniel Wong, Lion Adrian Tan from the Lions Club of Belait, President Sushell Kaur, Immediate Past President Sunil Kumar Ramchandani; and Secretary Tay Kim Swee of Lions Club of Bandar Seri Begawan were present.

The Lions Club of Belait and Lions Club of Bandar Seri Begawan hoped the aid will help ensure their safety while protecting the health of the nation. The donation also served to help show their appreciation to the volunteers.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Brunei Technical Education Jefri Bolkiah Campus (IBTE JBC) also provided aid to the COVID-19 frontliners on May 22.

The donations, comprising food, represented one of the annual practices observed by the campus during the month of Ramadhan to help encourage volunteerism among residents to conduct charitable activities.

Industry Liaison Officer at the campus Hajah Salenawati binti Haji Mohd Saji led members from the campus to present donations to Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital, Tutong.

Mohammad Danil bin Haji Othman, a representative of the hospital’s administration, received the donations.
