The Operations Department of the Company ‘C’ Police Reserve Unit under the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday seized several prohibited items during a joint COVID-19 patrol of the border with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

The patrol found nine packages of Brazilian Pronto 3-in-1 Coffee inside an abandoned car at Simpang 230 in Kampong Junjongan, Limau Manis.

The coffee mix brand is listed as a contaminated product under the Public Health (Food) Regulations (P1 Division 182).

A further search of the vehicle found two more packages, while several more were scattered around the area, in an unsuccessful attempt to smuggle them into the country through a clandestine route. The confiscated items were taken to the Limau Manis Police Station, and the investigation handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department (JKED).
