A total of 334 car accidents were reported in the first four months of this year, including three fatal ones, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) statistics revealed yesterday.
Of this, 182 were self-accidents while 149 involved two cars or more, statistics from January-April 2020 revealed.
A total of 12 fatalities were reported in car accidents in 2019, while 656 were self-accidents and 512 involved two cars or more in 2019, the statistics showed.
Two deaths were recorded in two separate motor accidents on May 23 and 25.
The RBPF through its Traffic Control and Investigation Department (JSKLL) recently issued a reminder to road users to always adhere to road and traffic regulations to ensure the safety of all. Among the frequent compound cases recorded by the JSKLL and its penalties include not buckling up, speeding, using phones while driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
