Nations echo Takbir virtually

Religious figures from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore took part in Takbir Hari Raya last Saturday night through Facebook and YouTube to mark Hari
Raya Aidilfitri.

Themed ‘Nusantara Bertakbir, #We Are Brothers’, the programme organised by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) of Malaysia with strategic partners was viewed worldwide via Jawi Facebook, GrabNgaji Malaysia and YouTube channel Flow Studios at 9.30pm Brunei time and 8.30pm West Indonesia time, Malaysian media reported.

The 45-minute live broadcast was in collaboration with various strategic partners.

According to Jawi Director Haji Mohd Ajib bin Ismail, the event featured personalities such as GrabNgaji Malaysia Founder Haji Noh Fariq Omar Al-Hafiz, Young Qari Celebrity from Indonesia Muzammil Hasballah, Sarawak Islamic Council Al-Quran expert Dato Haji Ismawi bin Haji Duet, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the iTarannum School of Tarannum, Singapore Nor Muhammad bin Ali and Acting Assistant Director at the Mosque Affairs Department of Ministry of Religious Affairs, Brunei Darussalam Pengiran Haji Haslin bin Pengiran Haji Ali.

“The event aimed at embracing the new normal of the digital community to express the victory of Muslims in celebrating Aidilfitri with the hope of airing Takbir as a symbol of Muslim unity under the theme #We are Brothers.

“Individual video recording to Takbir Hari Raya was also transmitted via Telegram for broadcast,” he said.
