Several minor offences were recorded and compound fines issued to drivers during two separate roadblock operations conducted by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) last week.

Acting ASP Hajah Nur Azhani binti Haji Johaiani led nine Muara Police Station personnel in a roadblock along the Mentiri Highway, which recorded a case of an unlicensed driver and several cases of motorists driving vehicles with worn out tyres. The offenders were issued compound fines under the Road and Traffic Act, Chapter 68.

No offences were recorded at the Jalan Junjongan roadblock, manned by 10 personnel from the Limau Manis Police Station.

The RBPF said the roadblocks were held to ensure motorists abide by the road traffic regulations and adhere to government directives amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
