Mosques, hospitals receive Waqaf contribution

Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) through Student Affairs Office and UTB Student Representative Council 2020/2021 (MPPUTB) organised a Waqaf UTB programme, Waqaf Khas Ramadhan 1441 Hijrah/2020 as part of its continuous efforts to reach out to the community.

The waqaf were collected from staff and students of UTB from May 6. The donated items included 26 wheelchairs, prayer mats, electric fans, vacuum cleaners, mirrors, plastic stools/chairs, and cleaning supplies valued at BND3,194 and these were distributed to selected mosques and hospitals around the country from May 16-19.

The delegation of staff and students of the university was led by Dean of Student Affairs Dayangku Ida Nurul-Fitri binti Pengiran Haji Kahar.

The Dean of Student Affairs said, “Alhamdulillah this year’s Waqaf UTB programme’s response was encouraging and I hope this initiative can be continued in the years to come.”
