More ICT devices contributed on final day of donation drive

A donation drive to support online learning and provide assistance to students in need amid the COVID-19 pandemic came to a close yesterday, with the presentation of donation of more ICT devices.

The donation drive was jointly initiated by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) and Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI).

Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman received the contribution of 10 laptops and 50 tablets at a ceremony at the MoE. The contribution was made by Legislative Council (LegCo) members.

The donation was jointly presented by LegCo members Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Haji Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Sabtu, Yang Berhormat Ong Tiong Oh, Yang Berhormat Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon.

Meanwhile, Nex.Us Chief Executive Officer Hajah Nor Azura binti Haji Mohd Tahir handed over 40 desktops, 10 of which are equipped with webcams sponsored by CF King Enterprise.

Progresif Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Hajah Nurul Haniah binti Haji Jaafar handed over 34 laptops. Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions BRN Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Lilama South East Asia Sdn Bhd, JEL (Borneo) Sdn Bhd and Saifuddin Sdn Bhd contributed 16 laptops, presented by Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions BRN Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Joerg Schiemann.

The donation drive has collected 1,321 laptops, 281 desktops and 157 tablets. While the donation drive officially ended yesterday, contributions can still be accepted at the Department of Information and Communication Technology, 4th floor, Block C, MoE.
