More donations flow for orphans, underprivileged

Members of the Kampong Jerudong ‘B’ Village Consultative Council (MPK) and Old Skols 80s Group handed over donations to 15 orphans residing in the village via drive-thru.

The event was part of their charity project to help the orphans celebrate Hari Raya as well as to gain blessings in the holy month of Ramadhan.

The donations were distributed by Acting Village Head of Kampong Jerudong ‘B’ Kamis bin Panjang, Adviser of the MPK Kampong Jerudong ‘B’ Abdul Hamid bin Abas and representatives of Old Skols 80s Group at the acting village head’s residence.

Al-Hijrah Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd

In seeking blessings from Allah the Almighty especially in the holy month of Ramadhan, Al-Hijrah Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and presentation of donation to orphans at its office in Habza Building in Kiulap recently.

Managing Director of Al-Hijrah Travel & Tours Haji Shamsul Baharin bin Haji Abdul Rahman and Executive Director and Management Haji Md Yunos bin Taha presented the donations to the orphans.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Khatam Al-Quran ceremony followed by Tahlil and Doa.

Malayali Association

The Malayali Association (MA) organised a Hari Raya Charity to help the less fortunate in the Belait District as a part of its social and welfare objectives to support the local community at Serikandi Restaurant recently.

Held in collaboration with the Belait District Office, the association distributed gift hampers and cash donations to 25 families selected by village heads of RPN Seria and Kampong Pandan C. Malayali Association President Rajesh PC thanked the District Office, Pengulu of RPN Seria and Kampong Pandan C for the support.

He added that charity is one of Malayali Associations’ main objectives as it strives to do more for society. The association also supplied food packets to 50 health staff in Suri Seri Begawan Hospital Kuala Belait.

Network Integrity Assurance Technologies

Members of the Network Integrity Assurance Technologies Sdn Bhd (NiAT) distributed donations to underprivileged families in Tutong District recently as a part of its corporate social responsibility initiative during Ramadhan.

The team comprising five representatives from various departments of NiAT, led by Chief Executive Officer Lim Ming Soon presented food and other necessities to 15 underprivileged families in Kampong Ungar, Benutan and Rambai.

“We believe that it is the right thing to do, not just during the month of Ramadhan but as part of our ongoing efforts to stay connected and give back to the community on a regular basis,” Lim Ming Soon said.

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through its Student Affairs Section organised a donation presentation ceremony for orphans recently.

The charitable activity is an annual event of UNISSA in glorifying the holy month of Ramadhan in addition to its ‘Ihya Ramadhan’ programmes such as Al-Quran recitation ceremony via online and the Nuzul Al-Quran celebration.

The event also aimed to gain blessings and help add festive cheers to orphans for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Rector of UNISSA Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal presented the donations to 41 orphans via drive-thru.

Dean of Students and Chairperson of Ihya Ramadhan programme of UNISSA Dr Supri bin Haji Sudin was also present.

Wings Motor Gang Society Brunei & Hybrid Bone’s Brunei

Members of the Wings Motor Gang Society (WMGS) Brunei and Hybrid Bone’s Brunei organised a charity event ‘Bikers Ramadhan Infaq Jariah’ recently.

The project, held in collaboration with Mad Riders MG Brunei, Universal Bikers Brunei MG, Mix Riders Club and Pradian Bikers MG, saw 36 bikers presenting donations to orphans and underprivileged families in the Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Belait districts.

The contributions comprising basic daily necessities were bought using funds from the bikers clubs and associations as well as individual donors.

The charity event also served to strengthen ties and instil brotherhood among the members.

Koperasi Berkat Kerjakaras Semua Sanang

In ushering Hari Raya celebration, the Koperasi Berkat Kerjakaras Semua Sanang (BKSS), Kementerian Kesihatan Bhd held a donation presentation ceremony at the BKSS Executive Room in Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital recently.

Chairman of BKSS Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Mohiddin presented the donations to 12 orphans of deceased members of BKSS.

The annual event was held as part of the BKSS Ramadhan activity aimed to help orphans during Hari Raya and gain blessings.

DES School

A total of 13 orphans at DES School received donations via a drive-thru organised by the school recently.

Parents and members of the school contributed to the fund.

The recipients also received a Raya hamper sponsored by Berqat.
