The Ministry of Education (MoE) yesterday received 173 units of laptop from senior government officials and several companies, in response to the donation drive initiated by the MoE, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) and Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) to support online learning and to provide assistance to students in need during the COVID-19 epidemic. The presentation was held at Conference Hall 1, MoE headquarters.

Thirty-three laptops were contributed by Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries of Brunei Darussalam. The contribution was co-presented by Permanent Secretary (Media and Cabinet) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Mohamed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos; Permanent Secretaty (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the Ministry of Development (MoD) Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria and Permanent Secretary at the MTIC Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof.
Hanafi Consultant donated 40 laptops presented by its Chairman Haji Mohammad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Abdul Rahman; BS Syscom (B) Sdn Bhd contributed 40 laptops handed over by its Managing Director Sylvester Yong.
Another 20 laptops were received from SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd presented by its General Manager Philip Grant.
