Joint operation detects traffic rule violations

Fifty-six compound cases and one docket case in violation of road traffic regulations, eight customs and excise violations and 20 violations under the Land Transport Department with an offence under the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Act were detected during a joint road block at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah highway late Friday night.

The operation was held from 8pm to midnight.

Personnel from the Traffic Control and Investigation Department (JSKLL) under the Royal Brunei Police Force, INRD, Royal Customs and Excise Department, NCB and Land Transport Department participated.

Acting Head of Control and Patrol Unit of JSKLL Chief Inspector Kifli bin Haji Md Daud also participated.

It is hoped the operation will make drivers aware on the importance of complying with regulations in Brunei Darussalam.

The public is urged to play a proactive role as the eye and ear to the enforcement agencies by providing information to help combat crime.

Enforcement personnel are also urged to be courteous and disciplined during operations.
