Eleven cartons of cigarettes of various brands were discovered during a joint COVID-19 surveillance by the Company ‘C’ Police Reserve Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) at Kampong Junjongan yesterday.
RBPF and RBAF personnel discovered a suspicious looking gunny bag placed inside bushes around a farm at around 9.25am, according to a police press statement. Inspection revealed cartons of cigarettes and a drinking glass.
The contrabands were confiscated to the Limau Manis Police Station for further investigation and handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department.
The RBPF said they will continue to combat cross-border crimes and activities that are in violation of the country’s laws.
