British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Richard Lindsay and his wife Xanthe Lindsay donated blood at the Blood Donation Centre of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital yesterday.
Following the blood donation awareness campaign Drop Your Blood Letters launched on May 14, the High Commissioner pledged to donate blood to encourage others to donate and help patients in need of a blood transfusion.
“I was delighted to be able to give blood today as part of our #dropyourbloodletters campaign in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MoH). This is one way that we can help others. By donating blood, you help someone in need and it can save a precious life,” said the High Commissioner.
Lindsay urged the public to participate in the awareness campaign by dropping the letters A, B and O from their names or organisation names and logos and posting it on social media platforms and tagging @british.hc.bn, @bloodbank_ripas, #dropyourbloodletters and #ukinbrunei.
The High Commissioner added that the Blood Donation Centre needs all types of blood and encourages blood donors and potential donors to donate.
