The Magistrate’s Court yesterday adjourned an assault case to June 4, as the prosecution awaits the medical reports on the victim.

Mohammad Abdul Mutalip bin Minudin, 34, allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old boy by stabbing him twice in his stomach and twice in his left lower back using an electrician’s test pin instrument at a house in Kampong Kupang in Tutong at 5am on May 20, 2020.

The charge is an offence which includes the possibility of causing death. It carries a penalty of 15 years’ jail with whipping.

Magistrate Pengiran Shahyzul Khairuddien bin Pengiran Abdul Rahman also agreed with the prosecution to have the defendant remanded as he poses a risk of influencing potential witnesses.
