COVID-19 updates: One active case remains at NIC

The Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad Isham Hj Jaafar at the daily COVID-19 press briefing said that no new COVID-19 case in was recorded in Brunei today, maintaining the national tally at 141.

Meanwhile, one recovery was recorded today, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 138. Only one patient, who is still in critical condition remains under treatment  at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong.

As reported earlier, the health minister said that a total of 2,679 contacts of cases have completed their quarantine in accordance to the Infectious Diseases Act (Chapter 204) and there is currently no individual that is undergoing quarantine at present.

However, he said there are 140 individuals that are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at monitoring centres provided by the government for those who have just arrived in the country after traveling abroad. At present, a total of 2,239 individuals have completed their mandatory self- isolation at the monitoring centres.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 59 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV2 virus, that brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 18,707 tests.

 


 

Over 35,000 booked for Friday prayer slot

The health minister shared that about 35,980 individuals have registered and booked for their Friday Prayer slot as mosques re-open for Friday prayers tomorrow.

He reminded all those who will be attending, who have already registered and given green codes to wear face masks while in the mosque area and to bring their own prayer mats (standard size). As a precautionary measure, individuals are advised not to shake hands and immediately exit after completing the Friday prayers.
