Couple claims trial to theft related offences

The Intermediate Court yesterday recorded a dating couple denying charges of housebreaking by night for theft and related offences.

Locals, Saufi bin Seruji, 32, and Maslina binti Haji Metusin, 45, pleaded not guilty to two charges of breaking into business premises and one charge of auto theft, while Saufi alone faces another one charge for causing damage to a car and one charge of switching its number plates to avoid identification.

Judge Radin Safiee bin Radin Mas Basiuni adjourned the case to May 14 for fixing trial dates. Deputy Public Prosecutor Kamal Ariffin bin Ismail prosecuted the case.
