Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Homeira Rigi Zirouki

On behalf of the Government and Muslim nation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I have the honour of expressing congratulations on the arrival of the month of Syawal and Hari Raya Aidilfitri to His Majesty, the Government and people of Brunei Darussalam.

This Ramadhan was very different from the months of Ramadhan in the past years. This year, Muslims were under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, special health considerations and restrictions.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Brunei Darussalam like other countries have been confronted with the coronavirus pandemic. But under His Majesty’s intelligent administration and supervision, the performance of the Brunei Government in controlling this pandemic virus has been successful. Despite severe illegal and unilateral economic and medical sanctions, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been able to minimise the mortality rate and deadly effects of the coronavirus, through proper management, tireless efforts of health frontliners and people’s cooperation.
