Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan (CHMS BSB) has implemented several stringent measures following the guidelines set by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ministry of Health (MoH) in preparation for the reopening of the school on June 2.
The school in a memo to the parents stated that students will return to the school in phases from June 2.
Under the first phase, Years 6, 8 and 11 students will be the first to attend classes. They will have their lessons for four days and online lessons at home for a day per week.
Students are required to wear face masks when returning to the school. They are encouraged to bring their own tissue paper and hand sanitiser.
Students feeling unwell or having symptoms of fever, flu, cough, sore throat and nose allergy should stay at home.
Year 6 students will attend online lessons on Wednesday while Year 8 students will have online lessons on Monday and Year 11 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile kindergarten, Year 1 to Years 5, 7, 9 and 10 students will continue to attend online lessons at home until further notice.
Meanwhile in line with the social distancing rules, every class will be divided into two groups. Some classes will have their lessons at the Boon Pang Hall or Aw Boon Haw Hall.
Students will have their temperature checked on arrival at the drop off points of the school at the secondary block and primary block. Parents are not allowed to get down from the car or park in front of the administrative block when dropping or picking children.
The school gate will be opened when lessons end for the day.
Legislative Council (LegCo) member and CHMS BSB Board of Directors Chairman Yang Berhormat Ong Tiong Oh and Board members visited the school to check on
