Brunei poetry readers were among 200 global enthusiasts who flooded the social media for poetry reading themed ‘Ramadhan, a sign of solidarity to usher the hoy month’.
Besides Brunei, the online global poetry reading was participated by readers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, India, Bangladesh, Jordan, Gambia and Australia, Malaysia media reported.
The programme was organised by the Malaysian National Poetry Readers Association (PEMUISI) and ran 24 hours, ending at 12 midnight on Friday.
PEMUISI Patron Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman said he was impressed by the cooperation received including non-Muslims but also shared the values of humanity.
Tan Sri Hamad said the programme was also monitored by representatives of the Malaysia Book of Records to be considered for recognition in the Most Read Ramadhan Poetry category.
