Bleeding for a cause at Blood Donation Centre

The Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam organised a blood donation drive yesterday participated by the Thai community in the country as well as Friends of Thailand at the Blood Donation Centre of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital with the aim of ensuring sufficient blood supply at the centre.

Thai Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul opened the event and presented Thai food to Chief Executive Officer of Medical Services at the Department of Medical Services and Health Haji Abdul Khalid As’ari bin Haji Azahari, Acting Chief Executive Officer (Special Grade) of RIPAS Hospital Abdol Hazis bin Haji Ahad and Acting Director of Laboratory Services Dr Hajah Surita binti Haji Mohd Taib, who received the food donation on behalf of the officers and staff at the centre.

The blood donation drive drew 24 donors, comprising Thais residing in the country, Friends of Thailand and officials and staff of the embassy.

Yesterday’s event was the second of its kind organised by the embassy, with the first held on November 13, 2019 in conjunction with King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand’s Royal Initiative Volunteers’ Good Deeds from the Heart project.

Meanwhile, blood donors are advised to make a reservation at the centre by visiting the www.linktr.ee/bdcripas website as well as download the BruHealth app to scan the QR code upon entering and exiting the centre.
