Fifteen Youth Volunteers led by Deputy Head of Youth Volunteer Operation Major (Rtd) Akhmal bin Sulaiman participated in the cleaning campaign at Gadong Wet Market yesterday.

The campaign aimed to maintain the cleanliness of the market and help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Major (Rtd) Akhmal said the campaign was held in collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD).

“We have conducted two cleaning campaigns including at Tamuneka Tutong which involved six volunteers,” he said.

Major (Rtd) Akhmal said a similar campaign will be held at markets around the country including Temburong and Belait districts.

“The campaigns will be held in collaboration with several agencies including Municipal Department, Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) as well as PKBN,”

The cleaning campaign was organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) through municipal departments and district offices.
