Vehicle catches fire, driver escapes unhurt

Mar’azmala Petrol Station workers put out a vehicle fire at its premises recently.

Mohammad Izzul Waie bin Abdul Hassan and Abdul Hafiz bin Ramli extinguished the fire that originated from the left fog light wiring of the vehicle using two dry powder 4kg fire extinguishers before firefighters arrived at the scene, according to a statement from the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD).

The female driver of the vehicle escaped without injuries. The cause of the fire is believed to be a loose cable connection in the left fog light.

The estimated cost of damages is at BND1,500.

Vehicle owners are urged to make sure that the vehicles are in good condition before starting a journey.

Meanwhile, modifications of the engines electrical system and car accessories as well as wiring should be carried out in accordance with the proper standards by a qualified mechanic. The public can contact 995 for emergencies.
