Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said the public need not worry about the infectivity of relapsed COVID-19 cases.

He said this in a response to concerns that relapsed COVID-19 patients would infect family and members of the public, during the COVID-19 press conference at the Al-’Afiah Hall of the Ministry of Health yesterday.

“From what we (the ministry) have observed, neither close family or those living with the relapsed patients were infected. So we believe it is most likely the shedding of dead viruses. Insya Allah, there is nothing to be afraid of,” he said, adding that the finding were also shared by other countries with relapsed patients.
