Nominations invited for 2020 ASEAN Entrepreneur Awards

The ASEAN Korea Centre (AKC) is inviting nominations from local entrepreneurs for the 2020 ASEAN Entrepreneur Award to be held in September 2020 during the 21st World Knowledge Forum in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

The 2020 ASEAN Entrepreneur Awards is organised by the AKC in collaboration with Maekyung Media Group. The event aims to raise awareness of ASEAN as a hub for doing business and provide opportunities for cooperation between ASEAN and Republic of Korea business communities.

Nomination is now open for one to two potential entrepreneurs who fulfil the criteria for each of the following award categories.

The first category is Regional Champion which refers to regional giant(s) who has/have strong presence in more than three ASEAN member countries. Nominees must not only have contributed to cross-border businesses and freer movement of goods, services and people at regional level, but also increased awareness of ASEAN at an international level.

The second category is Entrepreneur 4.0, which refers to exceptional entrepreneur(s) in the digital sector or tech start-up(s). The nominees(s) in this category must provide innovative solutions to problems (in the country or ASEAN) with smart technologies, thus greatly improving the lives of people.

The third category is Empowering Women for female business leaders who have made significant achievements in her field. The nominees in this category should have inspired and motivated many young women in the country and ASEAN, being their role models.

After receiving nominations from each ASEAN member states, a panel of judges comprised of organisers and the ROK Mission to ASEAN will go through the final selection. Selected entrepreneurs will be notified by the organisers.
