As part of initiatives to curb the outbreak of COVID-19, the management of Tamu Kianggeh Complex stressed on the importance of social distancing using a hailer speaker.
The social distancing awareness was held simultaneously at the Tamu Kianggeh Complex, Gadong Wet Market, Tamu Bunga, and Gadong Night Market yesterday.
According to Head of Tamu Kianggeh Complex Management Marshidi bin Haji Omar highlighted that this initiative is part of the continuous action for the well-being of both vendors and customers such as the red squares on the floor, information notices on social distancing, encouraging vendors and customers to wear masks, and speaking tactfully to visitors on social distancing.
“This is our latest measure using hailer speakers where our staff move around the market to keep customers separated and ensure social distancing,” he said.
He said for Tamu Kianggeh, the initiative will be held every Friday and Sunday and in the near future, the four blocks of Tamu Kianggeh will be fitted with speakers for announcements on raising awareness of social distancing.
“I hope that this measure can stop the spread of the virus and remind all on their roles and support agencies involved as well as to pray for the safety of the country, and the novel coronavirus to be eradicated from the world,” he said.
