New batch of Sembada 188 arrives to boost rice production

Another batch of Sembada 188 rice seeds has been provided for Brunei’s agricultural fields, as part of a contract to supply up to 10.8 tonnes of Sembada 188 seeds for the 2020/2021 planting season. The planting of Sembada 188 seedlings on October 28, 2019, by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, marked the official start of the commercial rice farm in the Agricultural Development Area (KKP) of Kandol in the Belait District.
