Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque Takmir Committee conducted a #ZoomNgajiQuran and #ZoomMembacaKahfi as part of their initiative to encourage more congregants and village residents to recite and gain knowledge of Al-Quran through online platform despite the temporary closure of mosques, suraus and religious halls across the nation.

A representative of the MRSB Takmir committee said that the initiative started on the fourth week of the temporary closure. He added that the initiative was to ensure that mosque activities or programmes can still be conducted while practising safe social and physical distancing.

According to him, several online platforms were utilised by the Takmir committee to conduct the programmes such as Whatsapp Video Call, Zoom Cloud Meeting, Facebook Live and others.

“Previously we used online methods such as Facebook Live for religious lectures (ceramah) for the congregants and the response was encouraging but it was postponed following the closure of the mosque,” he said.

“#ZoomNgajiQuran and #ZoomMembacaKahfi initiative was a first for most of us. At the moment, we have 10 participants for our online programme,” he added.

He said #ZoomNgajiQuran is conducted every day except for Friday at 6am. #ZoomMembacaKahfi is conducted every Friday after Subuh prayer. Each session will be guided by the Imam of the mosque and other religious instructors.

He added #ZoomTadarusDiRumah will be introduced soon.

He hopes more congregants and village residents would participate in the programmes.
