Nine students checked out of The Brunei Hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday, having completed their 14-day mandatory quarantine which began on March 29.
Assistant Front Office Manager of The Brunei Hotel Farrah binti Razak said everything went smoothly during the quarantine period, with the guests fulfilling the directives issued to them.
“Matters related to the hotel were handled by our staff, while other matters by the frontliners based at the hotel lobby,” she said.
She reported that most of the guests left thank-you notes for the hotel staff and volunteers, as well as for the frontliners involved, including the Ministry of Health (MoH), the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD).
At the Al-Afiah Hotel in Kiulap, Operations Manager Mohd Aziz bin Haji Mahit said the 16 individuals who checked out were mainly students returning from abroad. “Everyone was cooperative and well-behaved,” he said.
“We did not encounter any incidents, and each one of us worked together in attending to the guests on quarantine, while practising COVID-19 guidelines for frontliners.”
As in other hotels designated for isolation centres, the staff of Al-Afiah Hotel received notes from the departing guests, expressing gratitude for the attention and services provided to them.
