More companies and organisations came forward to donate to the Ministry of Health (MoH) as part of their Corporate Social Responsibilty (CSR) to further assist the government in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The handing over of the donations was held at the building of the MoH, yesterday. Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar received the donations.
Among the donations were: BND5,100 from Brunei Government Hostel in Singapore Alumni (AKBS) presented by Dato Paduka Dr Haji Ismail bin Haji Duraman on behalf of AKBS Collection Chairman Haji Mohd Zin bin Haji Salleh; BND50,000 from Serikandi Group of Companies presented by its Chairman and Managing Director Shaikh Haji Khalid bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad; BND30,000 from Ya Nur Trading Company presented by its Chief Executive Officer Revi Thuruthiyil Bhaskaran; and BND10,000 from Jisco-TBR Marine presented by its Director Shaikh Ahmed Khalis bin Shaikh Haji Khalid.
Serikandi Group of Companies and Ya Nur Trading Company also donated 100 boxes of mineral water, 500 packets of biscuits to National Isolation Centre in Tutong and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
Meanwhile, Peter Wong of Stratacom Global Sdn Bhd presented a cheque to provide accommodation for frontline nurses at The Lanes Hotel in Tutong District to Acting Director of Policy and Planning at the MoH Siti Ajar binti Haji Yusop.
A similar ceremony was also held at the guest room ground floor of the MoH. Acting Assistant Director of Project Development at the MoH Mohamad Sharin bin Haji Sharbini received the contributions on behalf of the ministry.
BruPay Sdn Bhd donated over 14,000 pieces of face masks. The masks were presented by its CEO Haji Sophian bin Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mat Suny.
Haji Sophian said, “The MoH has done a tremendous job of containing the spread of COVID-19 and kept the general public well-informed with their daily press conference. This donation is meant to thank the ministry and all the frontliners to sustain the fight against the virus.”
The MoH also received 12,000 pieces of face shield from Sing Geap Enterprise Sdn Bhd presented by Supervisor Siti Nuraini binti Haji Jabidin, and face shields from EKK Alumni, Guild of Graduates of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Kumpulan Keusahawanan, Durrani Events, Nagawitra Works, and Winback.bn.
