Representatives of several private agencies handed over donations to assist the Brunei Government, particularly the Ministry of Health (MoH), in containing the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. The move is part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman and Acting Director of Policy and Planning at the MoH Hajah Siti Ajar binti Haji Yusof received the contributions at the MoH yesterday.
Tiong Hua Association representative Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh King Chin presented a cheque for BND822,000; Low San Hardware Managing Director Matthew Bond handed over a cheque for BND100,000; Swee Sdn Bhd Vice President Chua Min Chu handed over a cheque for BND100,000; Christian Community of Brunei Darussalam representative Bishop Cornelius Sim handed over a cheque for BND70,000; Lam Chit Sang of Ong Project presented a cheque for BND20,000; Thomas Chin Kee Onn of Arkitek Rekarya presented a cheque for BND20,000; and Institution of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA) Brunei President Haji Mohd Zin bin Haji Mohd Salleh presented a cheque for BND12,550 to the minister.
Meanwhile, Haji Abdul Manap received BND10,000 in donations from De Loitte & Touche Brunei representative Dayangku Khadijah binti Pengiran Haji Moksin; and 20 boxes of N95 masks from Zhonggheng (B) Sdn Bhd representative Xiang Weiwei.
Hajah Siti Ajar received 16 Elba Air Purifiers from Muara Chinese Temple representative Johnson Teo Khai Liang; and 7,500 face masks from Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co Ltd Chief Executive Officer Zeng Caili and Chief Financial Officer Lyu Guoli.
