MoE receives tablets for students in need

The Ministry of Education (MoE) received a donation of 100 units of new Lenovo tablets from Digital World Enterprise yesterday to support online learning for students in need.

The donation is a joint initiative of the MoE, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) and Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) for supporting online learning of students in need.

Held at the MoE, Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman and Deputy Minister of Education Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh were present.

The minister received the contribution from Digital World Enterprise Director Zubaidah binti Zainoh.

Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary at the MTIC Ir Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Chin Wei Keh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, AITI Acting Chief Executive Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, Acting Director General of Education, directors of Digital World Enterprise; Human Resource Manager of Digital World Enterprise; heads of departments and senior officers of the MoE and MTIC officials were also present.

The donation drive to collect ICT devices will be open until May 14. Donations can be dropped off either at Block A, IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus, Jalan Muara or IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus, Kuala Belait from Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 8.30am to noon and from 2pm to 4pm, except on public holidays. During Ramadhan, donations can be delivered from 8.30am to 1.30pm.
