Market premises cleaned to curb COVID-19 spread

A nationwide cleaning campaign of market premises was held yesterday to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam.

In Tutong District, the campaign was focussed at Tamu Mingguan Kompleks Pasarneka and Tamu Tutong.

It was carried out by government agencies including municipal departments, Tutong District Office, Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC), volunteers and vendors.

The markets, which operate every Thursday and Sunday, have been temporarily closed since March 19.

The campaign is based on the advice from the Ministry of Health (MoH) and organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) through municipal departments and District Offices.

Market vendors were advised to cooperate and follow the instructions given to ensure the cleaning campaign run smoothly.

Tutong District Officer, chairman and members of Tutong Municipal Board were present.
